Bio: Having survived the medical world for a few decades, I'm pursuing flight, firefighting, wrench turning, and enjoying my family. I have a passion for "warbirds" specifically the P51 and T-6, the Corsair, and do airshows in those planes. I fly "The Mighty 802" fighting wildfires, and have a great time in my Bird Dog.

  3. I’ve been enjoying your entertaining blog. I’m a former Pitts S1-S and RV-4 and 6 pilot, grounded for medication reasons. Had a three level lumbar fusion 10 months ago, so there is some hope of getting off the painkillers someday.

I can’t help but wonder if you noticed the spelling of your primary occupation at the bottom of the AVweb page that holds some of your blog entries. It is so far off it’s funny!

  5. Hi Doc,
No firefighting this year? Been hoping for an update, but don’t see any.

I’m no closer to flying. I got stupid on one of my hot rod motorcycles 6 months ago, and am still dealing with complications and additional pain that has at times redefined what 10 means. Fortunately, it has improved somewhat. Haven’t determined the source of it yet though.
